TRANSWORLD SKATE & CREATE

Here's what happened...Transworld got 4 teams: DVS, Osiris, Globe and Emerica. Each team was represented by 5 skaters. They spent 9 days in the TWS warehouse with the intent to make something out of nothing, using what ever they wanted. Here's the winning video from DVS...Come by the shop and pick up the October issue of TWS for more info.

NIKE SB PARTY @ VRS

We had the Nike SB party last night to wrap up our 3 straight weeks of Friday night events at VRS Viera.  Here are some pics....

DJ J Storm - thanks for coming and providing the tunes
Benny Filet came prepared with the green....but left without the Supreme Trainers.
Right before we read the winning number in the raffle....I said "what if a girl wins this thing"....well it happened.  Joey's girl Kristen went home with the grand prize!
J Storm just opened up for the flowbots a few weeks ago in Tampa
Filmer Ricky, CJ and his girl
Nike SB rep Ryan Dodge with Stevey and Jimmy.  Stevey's number was actually called first for the Trainer raffle....but he was working next door and didn't know.  He came in about 3omins after the raffle and asked when we were doing the raffle and then showed us his ticket... ha ha......BUMMER.
Dodge brought some Spring '09 shoes to the party.......should have been there.

THE REAL BUCCOS!

Forget all this garbage about the Tampa Bay Bucs.....The true buccos are the Pittsburgh Pirates! REAL TALK!  Took in a game the other night........AMAZING!.....PNC park, hands down best park in MLB (probably until NY finishes their $1.3 Billion....yes Billion with a B....stadium - I hate the Yankees).  Fans are great also.....the Pirates suck and still had a packed house on a Wednesday night.  We got there late...but I still got to see a Pittsburgh dinger and a double play.......I also scored me a sick new hat and Joe copped an old school one.

MR. ROBOTO TAKES FIRST IN TAMPA

Frontside Nollie Nose Blunt
Frontside Hurricane

YEAH CHROME! VRS Team Rider CJ Dixon took 1st place in the Tampa Back 2 School Bash, presented by Altamont Apparel. During the 15 minute Jam Session, CJ blew Judges away with a Frontside Nollie Nose Blunt down the handrail. Oh yeah, and he did f/s Hurricane too. When asked about the contest CJ said, "It was pretty Gnarly Charlie."

NOT SO QUIET......SCIENCE

Friday night we had our second of three live music events at VRS Viera.  The band featured was Quiet Science (you might have heard of them as A Denver Mile).  It was the first time we had a full setup in the shop (elec guitar, bass, drums, keys).   We were worried a little about the acoustics, but it sounded great!  They put on a great show and they have a great sound!!  Big thanks to Nate, Rob, Daisy Elizabeth & Barrett ......we loved the music and hopefully we can do this again soon!

Thanks to Aaron Smith for the pics!

The First Person Should Never Luge

Jon, Scott, and Erik went to Kona a while ago for our buddy Koki's birthday. It was a blast. Snake run after snake run. Someone decided to get creative and luge it and this is what happened. That's the birthday boy that falls out of the screen to the left.

Erik Quits Skating and Moves to Europe...

until his ankle heals. I went to Europe with my girlfriend, Sandy, to visit my mother in Holland. I was lucky enough to watch the finals of AmsterDam Am 2008, which takes place at Everland Skatepark in Amsterdam. If you want to see the footy from the contest you can peep it on Vital Skate. Then we went to Norway to visit Sandy's family. This is a small sample package.

Norway is beautiful! I went fishing and caught a foot and a half long squid in these waters!

World wide baby!

Such a nasty one. No skating on this trip.

My buddy Steve Cockrell from Gainesville came to visit with Scott Kramer as well. This is Steve getting to skate my dream spot. These benches have coping for some reason. And you can see the gap on down the way too. There's rails and grindable banks here too. This picture is from Sandy's camera.

This is in Amsterdam. My girlfriend was taking a picture of the fellas...then all of a sudden there was a really sketchy guy that looked like he wanted her purse. Check the faces.

Ye ain't know.
